L’office de la Protection du Citoyen (OPC), l’institution nationale indépendante haïtienne chargée de la promotion et de la défense des droits fondamentaux, participe à la 14e édition du Forum Mondial des Nations Unies sur les Entreprises et les Droits de l’Homme. Cet événement international se déroule du 24 au 26 novembre 2025 au Palais des Nations.

Ce forum constitue une plateforme d’échange stratégique qui rassemble des experts, des responsables d’organisations internationales, des représentants du secteur privé et des acteurs de la société civile. L’objectif est d’examiner les interactions cruciales entre les activités économiques, le respect de la dignité humaine et les impératifs d’une gouvernance responsable. Il s’agit d’un cadre privilégié pour partager les meilleures pratiques visant à intégrer les normes internationales des droits de l’homme dans les opérations des entreprises.

La délégation haïtienne est conduite par le Directeur Général de l’OPC, Monsieur Jude Jn Pierre. Il est accompagné de Madame Rose Darley Michelle BEROTE, Assistante à la Direction Générale, et de Maître Sophonie Jean Baptiste Moïse, Responsable du Service des Plaintes et des Enquêtes. Leur présence témoigne de la volonté de l’OPC de contribuer activement aux réflexions globales sur la responsabilité sociétale des entreprises et sur les mécanismes de prévention des violations des droits fondamentaux.

Le Directeur Général a souligné que la participation de l’OPC à ce forum de haut niveau illustre l’engagement constant de l’institution en faveur d’un environnement économique où la protection des personnes est une priorité absolue. Il a également rappelé la nécessité pour les entreprises opérant en Haïti d’adopter des pratiques éthiques et transparentes, susceptibles de renforcer la confiance publique et de favoriser un développement durable.

À travers sa présence à Genève, l’OPC vise à renforcer ses capacités institutionnelles, à élargir son réseau de partenaires et à s’inspirer des modèles internationaux pour améliorer les mécanismes nationaux de protection. L’institution entend également promouvoir l’adhésion des entreprises haïtiennes aux Principes Directeurs des Nations Unies relatifs aux entreprises et aux droits de l’homme, et œuvrer à l’édiction d’un cadre juridique plus robuste. Ce dernier doit garantir la justice sociale, la dignité des personnes et le respect des droits des travailleurs dans tous les secteurs d’activité.

En prenant part à cette session mondiale, l’OPC réaffirme sa conviction qu’un secteur privé responsable est un levier essentiel pour la consolidation de l’État de droit et l’avènement d’une société plus équitable au bénéfice de l’ensemble des citoyens haïtiens.
