On your marks, Get Set, Debate!
On One Condition.
A new debate is on the way between the candidates, nominally Donald Trump and Kamala Harris. As you may remember, Kamala is not the first Democrat that former President Trump, now a presidential candidate, has to debate. He had to face the well-rested, over-prepared, at-the-top-of-his-game octogenarian Joe Biden on June 27, 2024. The first 90 seconds of the debate sealed Joe’s fate; The Democrat Party would drop him a few weeks after. He was undemocratically pushed away to make room for Kamala, another at-the-top-of-her-game candidate.
You may also remember that the two Parties had to agree on certain conditions before the debate. In short, like a crocodile, Joe Biden dragged Donald Trump into his element (CNN). He used his “best fans,” Dana Bash and Jake Tapper, to moderate the debate, increasing his chance to win. Alas, he got a cold (according to Karine Jean-Pierre) and lost not just the debate but the confidence of his Party.
The new showdown between the two candidates will take place on September 10, 2024, on ABC (another best fan of the Democrats). The two Parties set the rules of the debate. Trump’s camp is fine defending his positions anywhere and pays little attention to the rules; however, for this new debate, I have one suggestion for the Republican campaign:
THE DEMOCRATS SHOULD AGREE IN WRITING TO KEEP KAMALA AS THEIR CANDIDATE, NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS AT THE DEBATE. Please, no more switching.
IS THAT TOO MUCH TO ASK?
